Unfaithful politicians and celebrities have been blowing up the news lately, thanks to the wandering eyes of a certain former action star—ahem, Arnold Schwarzenegger. But high status men and women aren’t the only ones who cheat, and no matter where you are in the world, acts of infidelity are hard to ignore.

In a recent survey, social dating community Zoosk asked more than 12,500 singles in eight different countries how they felt about cheating. The results of this global study offer interesting perspectives on how being unfaithful—whether it be with a partner, a celebrity or a politican—are viewed around the world. Here are some of the most interesting results:

On politicians. Schwarzenegger may be retired from his role as the Governator, but if he were up for reelection, his infidelity would hurt his chances. More than half of U.S. singles say a politician’s cheating ways would influence their vote, with women caring more than men. Abroad, however, singles care much less about the private affairs of their government leaders… READ THE REST AT YOURTANGO.

How Many Frogs Until You Find a Prince?

In a recent post, we talked about  a woman’s “number” and the negative stigma the value of that number holds in today’s sexually charged world.

Well, stop stressing about your number biddies, because each dude you encounter brings you one step closer to your dream man.

A dating website that nobody has ever heard of commissioned a survey to determine what, exactly, women have to go through before meeting the man of her dreams. Here, for your biddie pleasure, is what it takes to meet “the one,” by the numbers:

  • 22 – Men you will kiss
  • 6 – Bad dates
  • 6 – One-night stands
  • 5 – Heart breaks
  • 4 – Unfaithful partners
  • 3 – Long distance relationships
  • 3 – Holidays/vacations with men

Somehow, this all adds up to one. THE ONE.

Oh, so it’s that easy, researchers? Thanks for figuring that out for me, I was wondering how many douchers I’d have to kiss before I finally found one worth kissing long term. Twenty-two doesn’t seem like such a bad number, college and alcohol have certainly helped with that.

Deep Voice Leads to Deep Trouble?

via craigCloutier/FLICKR

I don’t know about you, but I’m not that turned on by a deep male voice.

Maybe it’s because when I think of a nice, deep, rich male voice, I think of certain pop culture figures — Darth Vader, Lance Bass — that I would never find myself itching to seduce.

But apparently, women are incredibly attracted to the seemingly silky sounds of a man with a nice bass vocal range. Unfortunately, this doesn’t bode well for biddies, because despite our increased attraction, we also deem these men most likely to cheat.

A study led by Canadian researchers asked college-aged men and women to rate to assess audio clips of male and female voices reading vowel sounds. Participants were asked many questions in regards to the voices, including, “Which person do you think is more likely to cheat on their partner?” and “Which person is more attractive?”

Men and women agreed that females with higher-pitched voices were more attractive and more likely to cheat. However, differing from their male counterparts, ladies found lower-pitched guy voices to be sexier, but also more likely to cheat.

This, of course, doesn’t mean that these men and women are actually guilty of infidelity, but it’s interesting to consider that if you’re a woman, and you’re attracted to a man’s voice, his sexy vocals could also lead to your lack of trust.

Or, to put it bluntly, the more attractive a girlfriend believes her boyfriend to be, the more likely she believes he is to cheat. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, but I guess we can chalk it all up to insecurity.

That’s something to work on, biddies. A deep voice does not a cheater make. Rather, a certain level of douchiness, completely unrelated to vocal pitch, drives a guy to cheat. But you should be able to determine that, even if his voice is dreamy.
